Associated Health Professionals offers an exciting opportunity for a PSYCH LVN in Downey, CA

Position details:

Candidates must have 2 years’ experience in a locked Psych facility and be IV Certified

$37.50/hour, $1500/week, $6500/month

Day shift 6am-2:30pm, Evening shift 2pm-10:30pm

40 hours per week (must be available to work weekends)

Weekly pay by direct deposit

Full time ongoing assignment.

Responsibilities:

-Provide basic nursing care to 300 adolescent (ages 8-18) patients (inmates or court wards), including the collection of specimens and general skin care.

-Provide Intravenous infusion and monitor intravenous therapy.

-Administer oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medication.

-Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure; observe patient's symptoms, behavior and progress; maintain clinical records.

-Working in a locked unit with patients

-Change routine dressings; provide wound care, including tracheotomy and colostomy care.

-Assist in patient education and rehabilitation; instruct patients in carrying out physicians' orders.

-Assist in scheduling and preparing patients for outpatient clinics; ensure the availability of necessary lab and x-ray results.

-Assessing (aggressive) patients and their mental health

-Perform routine EKG'S, CPR, and other necessary tests and emergency actions.

-Familiar with psychiatric medication

Requirements:

-CA LVN License

-1 year Behavioral Health / Psych experience as an LVN

-IV certification

-Current BLS
